Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Last updated August 3, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RyderDie at ryderdie.golf. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to use RyderDie, and by using the service you confirm that you are. RyderDie is intended for organizing adult golf trips and has no use for minors.
The service
RyderDie lets you organize golf trips, enter scores, run game formats, and invite players. It is an early-stage product, offered on an as-is basis, and we may add, change, or remove features as it develops.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Provide accurate information, and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.
Acceptable use
When using RyderDie, you agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- harass, abuse, or harm other members;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access;
- scrape, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service; or
- upload personal data about other people that you have no lawful basis to share.
Your content and rosters
You keep ownership of the data you put into RyderDie. You grant us the permission we need to store and process that data to operate the service for you and your trip members.
If you create a roster that includes other people's details, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to share those details with us, and for the accuracy of what you enter.
Paid plans and payments
Some features require a paid plan. We sell a single-event license, which covers one trip for 365 days from purchase, and an annual subscription. What each plan includes is shown at the point of purchase, and the features attached to a purchase are fixed at the time you buy - a later change to our plans does not reach backwards into an event you have already paid for.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Where we are registered to collect sales tax, it is added and shown before you pay.
An annual subscription renews yearly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and it will not renew. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy at /refunds.
Money between users - we are not involved
RyderDie never holds, receives, transmits, or escrows money that moves between users. This applies to every amount the app calculates between participants, including trip cost splits, entry fees, purses, skins, place payouts, and any settlement between players. The only money we take is payment for our own paid plans, described above.
We also take no share of money moving between users. The one exception we reserve is acting as a payment facilitator for a business - such as a golf club collecting its own registration fees for an event it runs - where a fee may be charged for that service. We will describe it clearly at the point of purchase if we ever offer it, and even then the funds belong to that business and not to us.
Where the app offers a link to a payment service such as Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App, that link is a convenience only. Any payment you make through it is a transaction between you and the other person, on that service, under that service's terms. We are not a party to it, we cannot see whether it happened, and we cannot reverse, recover, or guarantee it.
Marking a payment as sent or received inside RyderDie is a record that you and the other person keep for your own convenience. It is not proof of payment, and it does not move money or create any obligation on us.
If a disagreement arises about who paid what, it is between the people involved. We can show what was recorded in the app, and nothing more.
Amounts the app calculates
Scores, standings, purses, and any amounts owed between participants are calculated from the information you and your trip members enter - scores, handicaps, game formats, entry fees, and settings. If that information is wrong or incomplete, the results will be too.
These figures are informational. They are not a bill, an invoice, a financial statement, or advice, and you should check them before settling anything on the strength of them.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep RyderDie available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, and because it is an evolving product, features may change.
Disclaimer of warranties
RyderDie is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, RyderDie is a scoring and organizing tool, not an official handicapping authority, and we do not warrant that scoring, handicap, or leaderboard outputs are error-free. You are responsible for verifying competition results before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RyderDie will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to a reasonable amount.
Legal review pending: The exact liability cap and its carve-outs are being finalized with counsel. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you - including, for consumers in the EU or UK, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any right that cannot be waived.
Termination
You may stop using RyderDie and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion and retention work). We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that harms other members or the service itself.
Governing law and disputes
We are finalizing the governing law and dispute-resolution terms that apply to the service.
Legal review pending: The governing law, venue, and any arbitration or class-action-waiver terms for users in the United States are being confirmed with counsel. Consumers in the EU or UK keep the mandatory protections and the courts of their home country: any US arbitration or class-action waiver does not apply to them, and these Terms do not remove rights that local consumer law guarantees.
Changes to these Terms
We version these Terms. When we make a material change, we will update the version and give you notice and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the new version. The version and date shown at the top reflect the Terms currently in force.
